The center of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park is Lake St. Lucia with a length of 40 kilometers and a width of up to 21 kilometers. With a surface area of around 300 km², the Lake St. Lucia is the largest lake in South Africa.
St. Lucia Hippos & Crocodiles

The iSimangaliso Wetland Park is South Africa’s second largest protected area following the Kruger National Park and only a 45 min. drive away from the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi-Park. The protected are consists of 1,328,901 ha and was known until 2007 as the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park.

Besides that, the park offers with the second highest forested sand dunes in the world on a 200-kilometer-long coastal strip is another highlight worth seeing.
